Why Kangana Ranaut's Chandramukhi 2 release postponed to September 28?
Chandramukhi 2, featuring Raghava Lawrence and Kangana Ranaut in lead roles, has experienced a delay in its release date, according to recent reports. Originally scheduled to hit theaters soon, the horror-comedy directed by P Vasu will now be released on September 28, as stated by industry tracker LetsCinema in a tweet.
Despite this delay, there has been no official response from the film's cast or production team regarding the rescheduling of Chandramukhi 2. Some speculations on social media have suggested that the movie might not stick to its initial release date due to the strong opening of Shah Rukh Khan's film "Jawan" on September 7. Kangana Ranaut had recently taken to Instagram Stories to praise Shah Rukh Khan after the release of "Jawan."
One possible reason for the delay, as reported by 123 Telugu, could be the need for extra time to enhance the film's visual effects by the production team and studio.
Chandramukhi 2, directed by P Vasu, serves as the sequel to the Tamil horror-comedy film "Chandramukhi," which starred Rajinikanth and Jyothika in the lead roles. Produced by Lyca Productions and Subaskaran, Chandramukhi 2 will release in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada.
The recently unveiled trailer of Chandramukhi 2 sets the stage with a family moving into a mansion, with a warning to avoid the south block, known as Chandramukhi's residence. Kangana Ranaut portrays a dancer in the king's court, celebrated for her beauty and dancing skills, while Raghava Lawrence takes on the role of King Vettaiyan Raja.
Prior to this, the filmmakers released the film's second song, "Moruniye," featuring Raghava Lawrence. The song was composed by Oscar winner MM Keeravani and sung by SP Charan and Harika Narayan, with lyrics by Vivek.
Kangana Ranaut's upcoming projects include "Tejas," where she will play the role of an Indian Air Force pilot, set to be released in October 2023 and "Emergency," a period film in which she portrays the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. "Emergency" marks Kangana's first solo directorial effort and features Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhry, Vishak Nair, and Shreyas Talpade in prominent roles.
